Funeral Services offered by Leura Memorial Gardens
Style of funeral services
Leura Memorial Gardens Funeral Services offer the following styles of funeral service.
The dual service funeral. This involves a service at a church or funeral chapel followed by a procession (cortege) to the cemetery or crematorium and a brief final ceremony.
The single service funeral. This can take place at a funeral chapel, church, crematorium chapel or at the grave side and includes the final ceremony.
Alternative styles where a more simplified ceremony or lower funeral costs are required can also be made available.
Choosing a coffin or a casket
Leura Memorial Gardens Funeral Service provide a wide range of coffins and caskets. A coffin is shaped, wider at the shoulders and narrower at the foot. A casket is rectangular in shape. They vary in design, materials quality and price. The choice of a coffin or casket will depend on individual family preferences and perhaps economic circumstances.
Viewing the deceased
While some find no need to see the person who has died, others find it a significant part of the grieving process. The viewing of the deceased usually takes place at the funeral director’s premises. Leura Memorial Gardens provide both the opportunity and private facilities for this to occur.
Burial or cremation funeral service
Burial and cremation funeral services may only take place at approved cemeteries or crematoria. Cemeteries offer areas where monuments may be erected as well as lawn sections where graves are marked with bronze plaques. With cremation services, the coffin and deceased are always cremated together. Coffins or caskets are never re-used. As the choice of a cremation service or burial funeral can be an emotional one, it is wise for people to make their wishes known to their family in advance.
For your convenience, Leura Memorial Gardens Funeral Service has it’s own Crematoria, Chapel and Memorial Park located at Leura in the beautiful Blue Mountains setting not too far from Sydney.

Memorials - Linking Generations
Memorials celebrate lives that once lived. They are a stepping stone to the past, present and to the future - linking generations together. Memories of loved ones are precious and it is important we share them with our future generations.
A memorial also plays a vital role in the grieving process by providing the bereaved with something tangible giving a sense of focus to remember and reflect.
Leura Memorial Gardens and crematorium offers a variety of traditional and innovative funeral memorial options to suitably commemorate the life of a loved one. Memorial options range from the traditional wall niches to serene garden settings to individual tree or family estates.
Your memories can also be set in bronze for future generations in a truly unique garden setting amongst the magnificent ambience of The Blue Mountains.
We encourage you to make an appointment with our memorials consultants to discuss the type of funeral memorial best suited to your needs.
